Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). The Apple Tree. Set design artwork, mixed media with gouache and gold ink on black paper, Lady or Tiger Gates. Titled and initialed TW in gold ink. 8" x 6 1/4" (with frame 15 7/8" x 11 1/8"). Waviness to paper, chips to frame. Created by Tony Walton for the Broadway production of The Apple Tree, Sam S. Shubert Theatre, 1966-1967. Tony Walton was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Costume Design for The Apple Tree in 1967, and the show was nominated for Best Musical the same year.
