Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). The Apple Tree. 4 portfolios of set, costume and projection design artwork. Mostly prints. Portfolio 1: 41 Barbara Harris photo collages, 11 originals and 30 photo prints. Portfolio 2: 14 set model hangers, printed paper mounted on acetate; 32 negative prints of various set elements; The Apple Tree window card poster, designed by Richard Williams. Portfolio 3: 23 prints of costume design sketches, and 36 negative prints of the same images. Portfolio 4: 8 mounted sets of fabric swatches with handwritten notations. Costume prints, largest sheets 18" x 25". All as is and in production used condition. Created by Tony Walton for the Broadway production of The Apple Tree, Sam S. Shubert Theatre, 1966-1967. Tony Walton was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Costume Design for The Apple Tree in 1967, and the show was nominated for Best Musical the same year.
