Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). Death and the Maiden. 2 portfolios containing original artwork, photos, reference materials. Portfolio 1: 30 original set design rough sketches, most pencil on tracing paper and 1 in colored pencil on black card, reference materials including 40+ photos mounted in manila folders, 2 copies of Penguin Plays edition of Death and the Maiden. Portfolio 2: 2 "mirror" scrims for set model, mixed media with board, wood, gouache and other materials; 2 paint elevations, mixed media with gouache on illustration board; folder with set model photos and other papers; 4 Death and the Maiden window card posters. Larger paint elevation 18" x 32" including mount. All as is and in production used condition. Created by Tony Walton for the Broadway production of Death and the Maiden, Brooks Atkinson Theatre, 1992.
