Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). 1776. Portfolio containing original set design artwork, photographs. 2 pieces original set design artwork, mixed media with gouache and ink on paper, Abigail Adams House stage left and stage right, both mounted, each 19" x 12 3/4" including mounts. With 30 additional sketches, mostly pencil on tracing paper, various set design elements; numbers, research photographs. All as is and in production used condition. Created by Tony Walton for the Broadway production of 1776, Criterion Center Stage Right, 1997-1998. 1776 won the Drama Desk award for Outstanding Revival of a Musical in 1998. The show was nominated for the Tony for Best Revival of a Musical the same year.
