Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). The Man Who Came to Dinner. Portfolio of set design materials, including artwork, papers and notes, and with fabric, carpet and flooring samples and paint and color swatches. Original pencil on tracing paper rough sketch, with 3 photocopies of the same image; reference photos, papers related to the production and various set elements, Arches original paint elevation collage, mural for staircase collage, layout collage, print for backdrop with notations on the mount. Arches 11 1/4" x 21 1/4" including mount. All as is and in production used condition. Created by Tony Walton for the Broadway production of The Man Who Came to Dinner, American Airlines Theatre, 2000. The show was also filmed and aired on PBS as part of the Stage and Screen Series. The Man Who Came to Dinner was the first show at the newly restored Selwyn Theatre, which was renamed the American Airlines Theatre.
