Tony Walton (British, 1934-2022). Where’s Charley?. 3 portfolios containing costume design artwork and reference materials. Portfolio 1: 21 original costume design sketches, colored pencil on tracing paper, various characters; and with an 11 copies of the same images. Portfolio 2: 15 costume design sketches, prints with hand coloring in gouache, various characters; with 5 additional copies of costume design sketches. Portfolio 3: 24 manila folders containing reference and research materials for costume design, mostly photocopied pages from various sources. Hand colored prints each sheet 12" x 8 1/2". With two Where’s Charley? posters. All as is and in production used condition. Created by Tony Walton for the regional theater production of Where’s Charley?, Goodspeed Opera House, East Haddam, Connecticut, 2004. Tony Walton not only designed the costumes for the show, he also did the sets, directed and worked on the adaptation.
