Description
Native American painted hide garment, attributed to North American Plains. Hand-sewn panels with lazy-stitch beadwork throughout shoulders and sleeves. Hide treated with various pigments. Fringes throughout, including horsehair locks secured with metal wraps. 36" top to bottom, 30" across. Hide is cracked and brittle along edges. Fading and yellowing throughout. Stiffening and creasing throughout. Fraying and occasional loss throughout hide fringes and horsehair. One horsehair lock detached but present with lot. Minor bead loss.
