Pop Culture Time Capsule: TV Memorabilia & Vintage Toys
Lot 104:
This lot features a curated collection of seven vintage Japanese action figure and role-play toy sets, representing the peak of the "Metal Hero" and "Super Sentai" eras. The collection is headlined by three significant Bandai role-play weapons: the Final Buster Ziccannon Set from Tokusou Robo Janperson (1993), the Daytrick M-2 from Special Rescue Police Winspector (1990), and the Thunderslinger from Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger (1992), the latter being the source material for the American Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series. Also included is a Bandai Ultra Seven Deformed Cloth Series No. 4 (1990) figure set. Representing the "Real Robot" genre is a Takatoku Toys 1/60 scale Gerwalk Ishkick from the Super Dimension Century Orguss series, featuring die-cast metal and plastic construction. The lot is rounded out by a Gakken Boy’s Series Gun Box-857 (1985) and a Toybox Message Robo-kun (1985). Most items are prominently marked Made in Japan and retain their original Japanese-language packaging, which features vibrant lithographed graphics typical of the period. The items are constructed from high-quality molded plastic, vinyl, and die-cast zinc alloy. Lot dimensions approximately 16 1/2 inches x 11 1/2 inches.
Condition: The items are in varied vintage condition. Most sets appear to be complete with original internal packaging; notably, the Ultra Seven set includes its original polystyrene insert, an unapplied decal sheet, and printed instructions. The Gakken Gun Box-857 is noted as "No Robots" on an exterior label, indicating missing internal components. The boxes exhibit standard signs of age and shelf wear, including corner crushing, edge rubbing, and some original retail price stickers. Plastic windows on packaging show minor scuffing but remain largely intact. Electronic functions for the role-play weapons, including lights and sounds, are untested. All pieces are sold as-is, primarily in their original state of preservation.
Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Photos are considered part of the condition report. Complete condition information is available by request, please request no later than 24 hours prior to the auction. All lots are offered and sold "as is", and Willow Auctions will not provide refunds based on condition. Timepiece movements, lighting and electrics have not been tested, and art has not been examined out of the frame unless otherwise stated. We have our own in-house shipping program. Please request in-house shipping, if needed.
