Pop Culture Time Capsule: TV Memorabilia & Vintage Toys
Lot 116:
Description
This lot features a vintage Tomy Zoids Shield Liger MK-II (Lion Type) plastic model kit, model number RPZ-07. Manufactured in Japan, this "Mecha Life Form" is a 1/72 scale High Mobility Heavy Strike Type model. The kit is constructed from molded plastic parts in a color palette of blue, white, black, tan, and brown. The item includes its original Japanese-language illustrated box, the assembly instruction manual, and an unused sheet of decals. This model was designed to be motorized, powered by a single AA battery (not included). The Shield Liger MK-II is a significant release from the original 1980s Zoids line, featuring the iconic lion-shaped chassis with upgraded heavy weaponry.
Condition: The model is in unassembled condition. The plastic components have been placed in a clear resealable plastic bag; while they appear to be in good condition, the completeness of all parts is unverified. The original external box shows visible shelf wear consistent with age, including softening at the corners, scuffing along the edges, and minor creasing. A partial sticker remnant is located on one side panel. The instruction manual and decal sheet are present. The motorized mechanism has not been tested for functionality.
Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Photos are considered part of the condition report. Complete condition information is available by request, please request no later than 24 hours prior to the auction. All lots are offered and sold "as is", and Willow Auctions will not provide refunds based on condition. Timepiece movements, lighting and electrics have not been tested, and art has not been examined out of the frame unless otherwise stated. We have our own in-house shipping program. Please request in-house shipping, if needed.
Condition report:
The gorilla figure and mechanical frame appear structurally sound with original faux fur and plastic components. The original box shows age-related wear, including creasing, edge tears, and surface abrasions, particularly on the top flap and front panel. The internal remote lead is present.
