Description
This vintage battery-operated toy robot, titled Space Monster (model no. 318), was manufactured in Hong Kong by B/O Electronic Toys. The figure is constructed of molded plastic featuring a gold-toned body, red articulating arms with pincer-style hands, and blue tread-style feet. Design elements include large translucent red eyes and a chest panel displaying a colorful space-themed graphic. The reverse of the robot is equipped with a battery compartment, an OFF/ON toggle switch, and a large red rotary dial labeled DOWN/UP for height adjustment. This item is accompanied by its original color-illustrated box which advertises light-up eyes and electronic sound. Approximately 9 3/4 x 5 x 5 inches.
Condition: The robot appears visually intact with minor surface scuffing and light wear consistent with age. The battery compartment is clean, though the operational status of the electronic light and sound features is undetermined. The original box is present and shows moderate shelf wear, including edge creasing, rubbing, and small tears.
