Description

This lot features three vintage 24-inch scale Jumbo Machinder style robot figures from the Shogun Warriors line, manufactured by Mattel in the mid-1970s. The collection includes two Gaiking figures and one central Dragun figure, also known as Getter Dragon. These iconic toys are constructed from heavy-duty molded polyethylene plastic with vinyl heads and components. Each figure is marked MADE IN JAPAN on the reverse with copyright attributions to Toei Animation and Dynamic Pro. The Gaiking figures are characterized by their yellow and blue color scheme, large horns, and shoulder-mounted missile launchers. The central Dragun figure features a red and blue color scheme with Japanese katakana text on the belt translating to Dragon. All three figures are equipped with integrated rollers on the underside of the feet, a hallmark of the Jumbo Machinder design. These figures represent a significant era in cross-cultural toy history, bringing Japanese Super Robot media to the North American market. Each figure measures approximately 24 x 10 x 5 inches.

Condition: Figures are in as-found played-with condition exhibiting significant wear consistent with age. Both Gaiking figures show notable paint loss to the red cross leg decals and general surface grime. One Gaiking figure is missing the right hand attachment. The Dragun figure exhibits severe structural damage to the head casting with large sections of red plastic missing, and the left hand attachment is also absent. All figures are missing their original projectile missiles and any additional handheld accessories. Surface scuffing and oxidation to metal screws are present throughout the lot.

Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Photos are considered part of the condition report. Complete condition information is available by request, please request no later than 24 hours prior to the auction. All lots are offered and sold "as is", and Willow Auctions will not provide refunds based on condition. Timepiece movements, lighting and electrics have not been tested, and art has not been examined out of the frame unless otherwise stated. We have our own in-house shipping program.  Please request in-house shipping, if needed.
