Description
This lot features two vintage Speed Racer themed collectibles licensed through Speed Racer Enterprises, Inc. and Fred Wolf Films. The primary item is a Horizon The Mach 5 1/24 scale Highly Detailed Solid Model Kit, model number 32161, with a 1995 copyright. Manufactured in the U.S.A., this kit was sculpted by Sen Maruyama and includes a Certificate of Authenticity with serial number 1474. The kit consists of a solid-cast body and various unassembled components, including movable parts and a set of decals. The second item is a Gordy Time Speed Racer Watch, a five-function quartz digital watch, item number 448, copyrighted in 1994 and manufactured in China. The watch features an adjustable strap and character graphics on the face and band. Overall dimensions of the lot are 7-1/2 inches x 10-1/4 inches x 2-1/2 inches.
Condition: The Mach 5 model kit is complete and unassembled with parts contained in several original sealed plastic bags, including decals and the signed Certificate of Authenticity. The original cardboard box exhibits minor shelf wear, surface scuffing, and edge compression, and retains a vintage 78.50 dollar retail price sticker. The digital watch is in its original blister card packaging, which shows age-related yellowing and includes a vintage 12.00 dollar retail price sticker. The watch is untested and likely requires a battery replacement due to age.
