Pop Culture Time Capsule: TV Memorabilia & Vintage Toys
Lot 239:
Description
This lot features a vintage battery-operated Batmobile toy car, manufactured in Taiwan, likely dating to the 1970s. The vehicle is constructed of red lithographed metal with various plastic accents. It features dual green-tinted translucent canopies housing small plastic figures of Batman and Robin. Design details include blue rear fins, triple red plastic exhaust tubes, and a prominent spring-mounted antenna topped with a red translucent bulb. The side panels are marked with BATMOBILE in blue and white lettering, while the hood displays a classic Batman graphic. The toy is accompanied by its original color-illustrated cardboard box, which advertises Mystery Action, a blinking warning light, and jet engine noise. Approximately 11 inches x 5 inches.
Condition: The vehicle is in good vintage condition with a visible dent on the front right hood and minor surface scuffing. The lithography remains bright. The original box shows moderate wear, including creasing and softening at the corners. The battery-operated functions are untested. All original parts, including the antenna and figures, appear to be present.
