Pop Culture Time Capsule: TV Memorabilia & Vintage Toys
Lot 46:
This is an original World Wrestling Federation (WWF) "Wrestling Superstars" action figure manufactured by LJN Toys Ltd. and distributed in Canada by Grand Toys. The figure depicts Vince McMahon in his classic 1980s announcer persona, wearing a red blazer, grey vest, and blue trousers while holding a microphone. The figure is constructed of solid, heavy-duty vinyl (rubber-like plastic), a hallmark of the LJN line. It remains factory-sealed under its original plastic blister on a bilingual English and French card back. The packaging includes the original "Poster Inside!" notice and features a biographical profile and a series checklist on the reverse. Markings include item number #5598, assistant number #5425, and copyright dates of 1985 for Titan Sports, Inc. and 1986 for LJN Toys Ltd. The product is marked "Made in China." Measurements: 14" x 9 1/2".
Condition: The item is in its original, unopened packaging. The cardboard card back exhibits significant age-related wear, including heavy creasing, frayed edges, and substantial surface paper loss with adhesive residue around the hang tab area. The plastic blister shows notable yellowing and a visible dent at the base. The figure itself appears well-preserved within the seal.
Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Photos are considered part of the condition report. Complete condition information is available by request, please request no later than 24 hours prior to the auction. All lots are offered and sold "as is", and Willow Auctions will not provide refunds based on condition. Timepiece movements, lighting and electrics have not been tested, and art has not been examined out of the frame unless otherwise stated. We have our own in-house shipping program. Please request in-house shipping, if needed.
