Description

A vintage Buck Rogers in the 25th Century playset manufactured by HG Toys Inc. of Long Beach, New York, model No. 965. This set, released in 1979 to coincide with the popular television series, features a white molded plastic play helmet adorned with red lightning bolt decals and an adjustable liner. The set includes a silver-toned, battery-operated Twiki flasher figure with a translucent chest dial representing Dr. Theopolis, designed to provide light signals and clicking sounds. Also included are an Official Pin and a small paper instruction sheet. The packaging is marked with a 1979 copyright by Robert C. Dille and indicates that while the box was printed in the U.S.A., certain components were manufactured in Hong Kong. Box measurements are approximately 15 1/2 inches by 11 1/2 inches.
Condition: The set is housed in its original illustrated cardboard display box, which exhibits significant age-related wear, including crushing, tearing at the corners and top edges, and a damaged or partially detached clear plastic window panel. The internal components, including the helmet and Twiki figure, appear to be in good vintage condition with minor surface wear. The working condition of the battery-operated electronic components in the Twiki figure has not been determined and is sold as-is.
Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Photos are considered part of the condition report. Complete condition information is available by request, please request no later than 24 hours prior to the auction. All lots are offered and sold "as is", and Willow Auctions will not provide refunds based on condition. Timepiece movements, lighting and electrics have not been tested, and art has not been examined out of the frame unless otherwise stated. We have our own in-house shipping program.  Please request in-house shipping, if needed.
