Lot 78:
Description
This lot consists of seven vintage battery-operated toy robots and play sets, primarily constructed from molded plastic with internal electronic and mechanical components. The collection includes a Caprice Star Command i-M-1 Starroid Robot AM Band Radio dated 1977 (Made in Hong Kong), featuring a face that glows in synchronization with the radio. Also included is a blue plastic Super Commander robot (Item No. 81810, Made in China) with bump and go action and flashing headlights. Two Robot Warrior figures by Some, dated 1984 (Made in Hong Kong), feature automatic turn-around bodies and shooting fists. The lot further contains a 12-inch Cosmic Talking Robot with light-up eyes and shooting fists, a Kinsman Robot Machine conveyor play set (Model 7021, Made in Taiwan) featuring moving gears, and a silver Yonezawa Collections robot (Model 029-36049, dated 1984, Made in Japan) with orange wheels in its original Japanese-language packaging. These items represent the transition of toy manufacturing from Japan and Hong Kong to Taiwan and China during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Lot dimensions approximately 14 1/2 x 8 inches.
Condition: The robots appear to be in good aesthetic condition. Most items are housed in their original illustrated cardboard boxes, some with styrofoam inserts. The packaging exhibits moderate to heavy shelf wear, including creasing, edge tears, and adhesive tape residue. Both Robot Warrior boxes have detached flaps. The Kinsman Robot Machine is currently disassembled within its box. All items are sold as-is and have not been tested for mechanical or electronic functionality.
Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Photos are considered part of the condition report. All lots are offered and sold "as is", and Willow Auctions will not provide refunds based on condition.
