Pop Culture Time Capsule: TV Memorabilia & Vintage Toys
Lot 90:
Description
This lot features a collection of four vintage Japanese hobby model kits from the Orient Hero Series produced by Volks Inc. The collection includes titles such as Jr. Ultra World featuring Ultraman and a monster, Frankenstein vs. Baragon, Tetsujin vs. Monster, and King Ghidorah (Orient Hero Collection model number 21). These kits are classic examples of late 20th-century Japanese garage kits, primarily marketed to dedicated hobbyists. The King Ghidorah kit features work by prototype artist Hatanaka Masayoshi, while the Tetsujin kit credits Kenji Kawamoto. The kits are constructed from solid cast resin and plastic parts in various colors including red, tan, and pale green. Each kit includes original Japanese instruction sheets and illustrated box art. All items are marked as made in Japan with copyright dates circa 1987. Measurements for the boxes are approximately 12 inches by 10 inches.
Condition: The kits appear to be unbuilt and unassembled. Interior contents include parts still contained in original plastic bags. The cardboard boxes show various levels of age-related wear, including creases, tears, yellowing, and staining. One box label shows significant surface tearing. The kits appear to be complete with original parts and documentation.
Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Photos are considered part of the condition report. Complete condition information is available by request, please request no later than 24 hours prior to the auction. All lots are offered and sold "as is", and Willow Auctions will not provide refunds based on condition. Timepiece movements, lighting and electrics have not been tested, and art has not been examined out of the frame unless otherwise stated. We have our own in-house shipping program. Please request in-house shipping, if needed.
