Description
This lot comprises a collection of seven vintage space-themed toys, primarily manufactured in Japan during the mid-to-late 20th century. The assembly features a variety of mechanical and battery-operated mechanisms, showcasing the transition from traditional lithographed tin to molded plastic components. Key pieces include a "UFO Robo Grendizer" (UFO????? ?‚°??¬?????€?‚¤?‚¶???) wind-up figure by Popy, a battery-operated "Space Patrol 2019 Flying Saucer" by SY (Sakura) with bump-and-go action and a rotating rear propeller, and a battery-operated "Mercury Explorer" by TPS (Tokyo Plaything Shokai) featuring a "Magic Color Dome." The collection also includes two "Mighty Robot with Spark" wind-up figures by SY, a "Robot-7" mechanical walking toy, and a Masudaya "R-35 Antique Robot" wind-up model. Most items are marked "Made in Japan" and feature manufacturer logos for Popy, Masudaya, TPS, and SY. The lot includes original cardboard packaging for several items and a specialized instruction sheet for the Mercury Explorer. Dimensions of the grouping are approximately 7 x 8 x 8.5 inches.
Condition: The toys exhibit signs of age and play wear, including surface scratches, minor paint loss, and areas of oxidation on metal surfaces. Mechanical and battery-operated functions are untested. The original cardboard boxes show significant wear, including tearing, creasing, staining, and some missing structural flaps or window elements. The Mercury Explorer includes its original paper insert. The lot is sold as-is, with all original parts as shown.
