This lot features a pair of vintage Gakken Boy’s Series Gun Box pistol-shaped pencil cases, Model-571 (No. 81358). Manufactured in Japan by Gakken, these novelty items are part of the GB (Gakken Boy’s) line, characterized by their modular plastic construction and mechanical aesthetic. The design allows for the free assembly and disassembly of the pistol components, as described by the Japanese text on the packaging. Each unit functions as a multi-compartment storage container for stationery, including pens, erasers, and other small school accessories. The aesthetic reflects the gadget-oriented toy trends of the late 20th century. The items are housed in their original silver-toned illustrated display boxes featuring clear viewing windows and instructional diagrams on the reverse.
