Description
Large pit-fired ceramic teardrop sculpture. Constructed from a buff-colored clay body with a coarse, sandy surface texture. The piece exhibits a pit-fired or smoke-fired finish with variegated carbon-trapping marks in shades of black, charcoal, and ochre. Signed illegibly near the lower edge. The body of the sculpture has broken off from the base. 30″ H x 12″ W x 12″ D.
Condition report:
The body of the sculpture has broken off from the base and shows prominent surface cracking and fissures throughout the ceramic body.
