Description
Gaff-rigged sailing yacht model manufactured by Authentic Models, depicting the America’s Cup yacht Defender. The deck is detailed with wooden hatches, a companionway featuring miniature doors, and various rigging blocks and cleats. The fabric sails are stitched to represent traditional paneling and include a mainsail, gaff topsail, and headsails. The model is supported by a wooden cradle stand with a metal plaque inscribed “Per Mare Per Terram” and a central logo reading AM EST. 1968. 42″ H x 36″ W x 6 1/2″ D.
Condition report:
The piece is in good overall condition. There are minor surface scuffs and wear to the painted portion of the hull. The fabric sails show light aging and minor discoloration.
