Description
Collection of nine Franklin Library leather-bound books published between 1979-1982. Titles include The Odyssey by Homer, The Aeneid by Virgil, Rhetoric and On Poetics by Aristotle, Aesop’s Fables, Selected Lives by Plutarch (Dryden translation), The Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio, The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, The Annals of Tacitus, and Selected Dialogues by Plato (Benjamin Jowett translation). All volumes are finished with all edges gilt and contain decorative endpapers with integrated silk ribbon markers. Largest book 9 1/2″ x 6 1/4″ x 1 1/4″
Condition report:
Minor shelf wear is visible at the leather edges and corners of several volumes. The gilt edges remain bright and intact. The interiors are clean and bright, showing no evidence of previous owner inscriptions, library stamps, or foxing.
