Description
Three framed botanical herbarium specimens collected and prepared by Docteur Adamski of Neuilly-en-Thelle, Oise, France. Identified specimens include Carex mairii, Alisma ranunculoides, Alisma natans, and Alisma damasonium. The specimens are fixed with paper adhesive strips with some accompanied by small paper packets containing seeds. Handwritten ink notes include collection numbers and specific locations such as Fort-Mahon, Fôret de Bondy, and the environs of Versailles, with dates ranging from August 1889 to May 1934. 21″ x 15″ each.
Condition report:
The paper supports exhibit characteristic age-toning, edge wear, and occasional minor tears consistent with age. Scattered foxing is present across the sheets. The botanical specimens appear stable and largely intact within their mounts. The frames show light surface wear and minor abrasions.
