Description
Large Chinese porcelain charger or shallow dish decorated in polychrome Famille Rose enamels. The interior is hand-painted with the Hundred Antiques (Bogu) motif, featuring various scholar objects, vases with floral arrangements, censers, and auspicious symbols such as peaches. This central decoration is framed by a pink and turquoise ruyi-head border. Appears unsigned. 2 1/2″ H x 14 1/2″ diameter.
Condition report:
A significant hairline crack is visible, running from the rim across a portion of the body. The piece exhibits surface wear, minor enamel loss, and typical firing imperfections including kiln grit and pitting.
