Description
Three late 19th century American handguns. The first is a single-shot percussion boot pistol, stamped 6 4 4 on the underside of the barrel. The second is a Smith and Wesson Model 1, 3rd Issue 7-shot, .22 caliber rimfire tip-up pocket revolver, marked on the top of the barrel rib. The third is a solid-frame pocket revolver marked Defender on the top strap, possibly by Iver Johnson or Johnson and Bye. Largest (Smith & Wesson) 8″ x 4″.
Condition report:
All items show various levels of age-related wear, oxidation, and finish loss. Percussion pistol is in fair condition with overall surface oxidation, pitting, and significant wear to the wooden grips. Smith and Wesson revolver is in good antique condition with a dark brown patina and light pitting.
