Description
W.R. Case and Sons swing guard folding hunter pocket knife, pattern number 5827. Single-blade knife with a spear-point steel blade and a stag scale handle. Brass swing guard deploys with blade. Guard is stamped “Case Tested XX” indicating production during the 1920s-1940s. 9 1/2″ L, open.
Condition report:
Blade displays a significant dark patina and surface pitting, with signs of previous sharpening. Stag handles are well-preserved with a fine, stable crack visible on one scale near the center pin. Nickel silver bolsters show light surface scratches and wear consistent with age and handling.
