Description
Louis XV style marble-top bombe commode. Two full-width drawers with dovetailed joints. Variegated marble slab top with a serpentine edge. 31 3/4″ H x 32 1/2″ W x 17 1/2″ D.
Condition report:
There are extensive areas of missing, chipped, and lifting veneer, most notably along the lower apron, drawer edges, and legs. A collection of loose veneer fragments is included in a plastic bag for repair. The marble top exhibits numerous surface scratches, some of which are deep, and minor chipping along the edges. One metal sabot on the front right foot is secured with a wire band. Minor surface cracks and abrasions are visible on the side panels.
