Description
Large-scale Mid-Century Modern mixed media on canvas, surrealist composition. The technique utilizes thin, translucent washes of oil or acrylic paint, with significant bleed-through visible on the reverse. Small collage elements are integrated into the surface. Foreground detailed with charcoal or pencil. The work is unsigned and unframed. 55 1/4 x 58 1/2 inches.
Condition report:
Visible surface dirt and dust throughout. Fraying and thread remnants along the untrimmed canvas edges. Significant staining and pigment soak-through on the verso. The wooden stretcher shows signs of age and has been reinforced with a diagonal wooden brace. Multiple staple and nail holes along the edges.
