Description

Carved meerschaum figural tobacco pipe with head motif. The pipe transitions from the carved head into a smooth shank and a curved, translucent amber-toned stem. The bowl shows a significant aged patina with a color graduation from cream to a dark, toasted brown. The interior of the bowl displays heavy carbonization and charring from use. The stem is separated from the shank and is currently secured with tape. 2" H x 4" L.

There is significant charring and some loss to the carving around the rim of the bowl. The stem is separated from the shank and is currently secured with tape. The mouthpiece end of the stem exhibits a jagged break. The surface shows a deep patina, crazing, and minor scratches throughout.
