Description
Group of three antique phrenology busts, late 19th and early 20th centuries. Includes an L.N. Fowler ceramic bust in glazed white porcelain with blue-lined borders, a Fowler and Wells plaster bust, and an A.L. Vago Orthodox Phrenology composite bust with individual small printed paper labels applied directly to the mapped sections of the head. Largest 11 1/2″ H x 5 1/2″ W x 5 1/2″ D. Smallest 8 1/2″ H x 4″ W x 5″ D.

Condition report:
The ceramic bust shows fine age-related crazing throughout the glaze. The plaster bust exhibits surface wear and minor chipping, notably on the tip of the nose, and the rear paper label has some loss but remains largely legible. The Vago bust displays an aged patina with surface wear, scuffing, and minor loss to the applied paper labels on the head and base.
