Description
John Simpkins (American, 20th Century). Painted wooden box diorama in the form of a house. The interior chamber is painted with a scene of a stylized white dog with a long snout and bared teeth set against a dark blue ground with white stars and a red moon. Signed on the underside of the base “Bad Puppy” John Simpkins 1985. 20″ H x 13 1/2″ W x 9 1/2″ D.

Condition report:
The object shows minor surface wear and light scuffing throughout. The painted surfaces show natural wood grain texture. Brass hinges and the latch show light oxidation but remain fully functional.
