Watercolor and gouache study of a Roman Fourth Style wall decoration. Signed and dated 12-2-1916 in the lower right. Stamped Studio del Leoluca Liggio. 14 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ sight size, 16 1/2″ x 11 1/2″ with frame.

Condition report:
The paper exhibits foxing, toning, and waviness throughout. The gilt frame shows age-related wear, including minor chips and surface losses to the ornamentation. The verso reveals an aged cardboard backing with rusted nails and paper remnants.
