Description
Pair of Chinese ink and color handscrolls on paper with fabric borders and wooden roller ends. The first scroll is titled 百子圖 (Bai Zi Tu) and depicts the Hundred Boys theme with scenes of children playing in gardens and with auspicious symbols such as kites, peaches, and watermelons. The colophon references the artist Yang Shouping (Yang Shou, 1862–1927) and is signed by Jiangnan Jushi. The second scroll is titled 百虎圖 (Bai Hu Tu) and depicts the Hundred Tigers theme featuring tigers in various poses within a rocky, mountainous landscape with pine trees. The inscription states it is in the style of masters Zhang Shanzi and Zhang Daqian, is dated to the Guiyou year (癸酉), and is signed by Jiangnan Jushi. The paper on both scrolls is treated with a mottled wash to create an aged, antique appearance. Each scroll 10′ L x 11″ W.

Condition report:
The scrolls show horizontal creasing consistent with being rolled and some waviness throughout the paper. Spotting and tonal variations are also present throughout the scrolls.
