Description
Utagawa Hiroshige (Japanese, 1797-1858). Woodblock, Snow Scene of Benzaiten Shrine at Inokashira Pond. From the series Famous Places: Snow, Moon, and Flowers (Meisho Setsugekka). Signed upper right. 9 5/8″ x 14 1/4″ sight size, 11 1/2″ x 16 1/8″ with frame.

Condition report:
The paper displays visible toning and light browning, particularly concentrated at the edges. Minor foxing spots are present across the surface. The black-painted wooden frame shows significant wear, including chipping and paint loss along all edges. The back of the frame is not sealed and the cardboard backing is secured with metal fasteners.
