Description

Japanese Meiji period bronze relief decorated vessel body or vase without its original bottom plate. Exterior decorated with birds perched on plum blossom branches. Appears unsigned. 9″ H x 10 1/2″ rim diameter. 7 1/2″ base diameter.

Condition report:

The vessel is missing its original bottom plate, leaving the piece hollow through the center. A vertical stress crack measuring approximately 0.5 inches is present on the lower edge of the foot rim. The surface shows signs of general wear, including minor scratches, small pits, and scattered areas of oxidation and discoloration consistent with age.
