Description
59 pieces of Crown Ducal earthenware in the Orange Tree pattern. Service includes: 10 circular plates in multiple sizes (largest 7 1/4″), 12 octagonal and square plates in multiple sizes (largest 7 1/2″), 8 soup/cereal bowls (5 3/4″), 16 bread and butter plates (5 1/4″), a set of egg cups (1 1/2″ H), a toast rack, a twin-handled sugar bowl, salt and pepper shakers, a tri-lobed serving dish, small open condiment bowls, and a cruet stand with an integral egg cup. Base markings on several pieces include a black transfer-printed backstamp featuring a crown over the words Crown Ducal, Made in England, or Crown Ducal Ware England. Many pieces also display the pattern number A1211 and the British registered design number Rd No 7112701, which dates the design to approximately 1925. Some pieces exhibit small hand-painted orange marks.

Condition report:
The service shows signs of wear and fine crazing to the glaze throughout. Minor fleabites and small chips are visible on the rims of several pieces. Color fading throughout several pieces.
