Description
Late 19th century mahogany corner chair. The piece features a horseshoe-shaped top rail supported by turned spindles and two central splats with foliate and scroll carvings. The padded seat is upholstered in a multi-color floral tapestry fabric. 29 3/4″ H x 19″ W x 18 1/2″ D. Seat height 18″ H.
Condition report:
One carved back splat has a visible vertical split. The other back splat has breakage to the top left corner. There is some joint separation where the legs and seat rail meet. The mahogany finish shows scattered scuffs, nicks, and finish loss throughout, particularly on the legs. The upholstery is missing a tack and displays light soiling and a small localized stain.
