Description
Tea caddy with intricate silver wire filigree, decorated with vibrant polychrome enamels and glass cabochons. The body is divided into several lobed cartouches, each containing a different enamel-rendered auspicious motif: two horses in a landscape, a fruiting peach tree flanked by ruyi clouds, a jumping koi fish above waves, a hen with chicks under a willow tree, and a bundle of grain with birds and a central stylized character. The underside of the base is stamped "SILVER." 6" H x 5" W x 5" D. 664 grams total.
Condition report:
The tea caddy is in very good overall condition. The enamel colors remain vibrant throughout the piece. There is a small area of minor enamel loss on the white body of the hen in one cartouche. General light surface wear and patination are present, consistent with age and use.
