Description
Buccellati sterling silver figural stamp box featuring a Harlequin character from the Commedia dell’arte. The front of the post box features a small hinged door that opens to reveal a wood-lined stamp storage compartment. The entire figure is mounted on a tiered rectangular sterling silver base. The piece is engraved in cursive script on the edge of the base rim Buccellati New York Sterling. The underside of the base is stamped STERLING above a stylized B maker mark. The upper edge of the inner base rim is engraved with the limited edition number 53/80. 532 grams. 7″ H x 2″ W x 3″ D.
Condition report:
The item displays significant natural tarnish and surface patina, particularly in recessed areas and on the base. Minor wear is visible to the blackened finish on the Harlequin\'s mask and head. The hinged door on the post box is functional. Light surface scratches are present on the polished base. No visible dents, repairs, or losses to the silver are observed.
