This large-scale exhibition poster features the artwork Dog at Duck Trap, 1975 by American artist Alex Katz. The graphic depicts a shaggy grey-haired dog in a bright green grassy field set against a blue coastal Maine landscape. The poster was produced for the exhibition titled A Selection of American Art: The Skowhegan School 1946-1976, held at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston from June 16 to September 5, 1976. The work is characterized by Katz’s signature use of flat planes of color and bold graphic lines. Printed text in the lower left margin reads ALEX KATZ: DOG AT DUCK TRAP, 1975. Condition report:

The poster displays several condition issues consistent with age and handling. There is a small brown foxing spot in the upper left quadrant within the light blue sky area. A small vertical tear, approximately 0.5 inches long, is present at the bottom center edge, intersecting the word BOSTON. Light handling creases and rippling are visible along the top and bottom edges. The corners are slightly bumped with minor associated wear. Light overall toning is present.
