Description
A pair of silver-plated three-light candelabra in the Rococo Revival style. Each piece features a central upright candle socket flanked by two scrolling arms, all adorned with molded acanthus leaf and C-scroll motifs. The tapered stems are decorated with further foliate accents and rise from domed, circular bases with gadrooned and foliate borders. The silver plating shows significant wear throughout, particularly on high-relief areas and along the arms, revealing a copper-colored base metal underneath and resulting in a darkened, heavily patinated appearance. The undersides of the bases are covered in brown protective felt. 18.75″ H x 19″ W.
Condition report:
Significant and widespread wear to the silver plating, exposing the copper base metal. General surface tarnish and light oxidation consistent with age. Scattered minor surface scratches and grime. Felt on the bases shows light wear and accumulation of dust.
