Description
A neoclassical style decorative set comprising a scent caddy and a matching centerpiece bowl, both featuring clear glass vessels in ornate gilt-metal openwork frames. The centerpiece glass bowl is of lobed, octagonal-oval form set into a frame decorated with neoclassical motifs, including pairs of griffins flanking central urns and scenes of female figures and putti holding floral garlands. The bowl is flanked by two double-scrolled, rope-twist handles terminating in female mascarons and stands on four scrolled feet. The underside of one metal support member is incised with the number 571. The scent caddy is of triangular form with a matching gilt-metal frame featuring griffin and urn motifs and corner columns topped with masks. It contains three fitted, triangular clear glass scent bottles, each with a gilt metal collar and a faceted clear glass ball stopper. A larger circular lidded compartment is positioned in the center. The caddy stands on three ball feet. Scent caddy 5" H x 6" W x 6" D. Centerpiece bowl 3 1/2" H x 11" W x 5" D.

Condition report:
The set is in good overall condition. There is minor surface oxidation, tarnish, and wear to the gilt finish on the metal frames, particularly in the recessed areas. The glass vessels show light surface scratching and a few scattered small nicks and fleabites along the exposed upper rims, notably on the centerpiece bowl. All three stoppers and the central lid for the caddy are present. There is accumulated dust and light residue in the crevices of the metalwork.
