Description
A carved alabaster body designed in the Italian Neoclassical style. The lamp is constructed as a fluted urn resting on a tiered pedestal and square base. Two ornate handles with hand-carved floral and foliate motifs flank the central column. The piece is fitted with a multi-paneled fabric-covered shade with scalloped edges, featuring hand-painted floral sprays and green trim. The lamp includes a vintage-style electrical cord and a two-prong plug. No maker’s marks are visible. 37.5″ H. This lot is located offsite in Rumson, New Jersey and will be available for PICKUP ONLY. Condition report:
The alabaster body exhibits visible hairline cracks and crazing around the lower waist where the urn joins the pedestal stem. Accumulated dust and light surface staining are present within the recessed areas of the carved handles and fluted sections. The paneled shade shows minor age-related discoloration and light wear to the hand-painted motifs. The electrical cord shows age-related yellowing. Tested and working.
