August Uncurated Summer Auction
Lot 339:
Description
A large contemporary wall mirror featuring a central circular mirror plate set within a thick, rounded frame with an antiqued metallic finish. The design follows a sunburst pattern with a dense array of radiating metal rods of varying lengths. The rods are terminated with small metallic spheres and are interspersed with circular discs containing translucent, stone-like inlays resembling natural agate or capiz shell. The piece is constructed with a distressed metallic finish overall. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible. Diameter: 52 inches. This lot is located offsite in Rumson, New Jersey and will be available for PICKUP ONLY. Specific pickup instructions including the address and available pickup dates and times will be provided shortly after the auction.
Condition report:
The mirror is in generally good condition. The metalwork features an intentional distressed finish. Visible dust accumulation is present in the crevices of the rods and discs. Several of the stone-like inlays exhibit natural fractures or visible cracks, consistent with the material.
