Description
A Neoclassical style round center table by Lorin Marsh. The circular top features a segmented sunburst mahogany veneer pattern and an egg-and-dart carved border. The apron is supported by four pairs of double-fluted columns with Ionic capitals. The columns rest on a concave quatrefoil platform base featuring a checkered parquet veneer and a gadrooned edge. The entire piece is elevated on eight carved gadrooned bun feet. The underside retains a circular paper label with the hand-written number 38957 and the printed maker name Lorin Marsh within a green box. 28.5″ H x 41″ diameter. This lot is located offsite in Rumson, New Jersey and will be available for PICKUP ONLY. Condition report:
The table shows significant surface wear consistent with use. The top exhibits numerous scratches, scuffs, and white marks across the finish. Additional scuffing and minor dings are present on the lower platform base and around the carved feet. The piece would benefit from professional refinishing.
