Lot 359:
Description
A rectangular side table in a dark-stained hardwood, featuring a solid wood top with a perimeter carved in a rope-twist motif. The deep apron is decorated with a repeating high-relief geometric chevron pattern and houses a single central drawer with a small brass ring pull. The table is supported by four robust barley-twist legs with large, graduated ring-turned bulbous collars at the tops. The legs are joined by a matching barley-twist H-stretcher and terminate in compressed bun feet. The interior of the drawer contains an illegible paper label. 18″ H x 21.5″ W x 20.5″ D. This lot is located offsite in Rumson, New Jersey and will be available for PICKUP ONLY. Condition report:
The piece is in good overall condition. Light surface scratches and minor indentations consistent with age and use are visible on the table top. Minor scuffs and small finish chips are present on the feet and on the high points of the deep relief carvings. The dark-stained finish is largely intact with a good luster.
