Description
A Louis XVI style end table featuring a wood frame with mahogany veneers. The rectangular inset brecciated marble top, showing purple, cream, and green tones, is set within a fluted gilt bronze gallery border. The apron is decorated with a central gilt bronze mount in the form of a ribbon-tied foliate festoon. The table stands on four square-tapered fluted legs headed by gilt bronze floral mounts and terminating in foliate-cast gilt bronze sabots. The gilt bronze components are secured with visible pins. 28″ H x 21.5″ W x 15″ D. This lot is located offsite in Rumson, New Jersey and will be available for PICKUP ONLY. Condition report:
The marble top displays prominent natural veining and a significant horizontal line consistent with a stable hairline fracture or deep natural inclusion. The gilt bronze mounts show light surface oxidation and accumulated dust, with minor verdigris present on the sabots. The wood veneers exhibit light surface scratches and minor finish wear consistent with age and use.
