Description
A single wooden barrel-back armchair featuring a design that combines Windsor elements with Neoclassical styling. The chair is constructed from a dark-stained hardwood and features a wide, steam-bent continuous back rail that curves forward to form the armrests. The back and sides are filled with a series of decorative twisted spindles. The armrests terminate in outward-facing scrolls. The seat deck consists of an intact panel of natural woven cane. The chair is supported by two ring-turned front legs and two tapered, splayed rear legs. Included are a custom-fitted seat cushion and a matching rectangular lumbar pillow, both upholstered in a brown corduroy textile with piped edges. 39″ H x 22″ W x 25″ D. Seat height 19 inches. This lot is located offsite in Rumson, New Jersey and will be available for PICKUP ONLY. Condition report:
The chair is in good overall condition. The wooden frame shows minor surface wear consistent with age and use, including light scuffing on the feet and small nicks on the scrolled arm terminations. The woven caning on the seat deck is taut and appears free of breaks or sagging. The upholstery on the included cushions is clean with no significant stains, tears, or fading visible.
