Description

This lot consists of six pieces of decorative porcelain featuring floral, portrait, and pastoral motifs. The grouping includes pieces from European manufacturers including Reinhold Schlegelmilch and the Fraureuth porcelain factory. A deep bowl features a central portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte in military uniform with a teal rim decorated with six female portrait vignettes and gilded scrollwork. An R.S. Prussia circular cabinet plate is decorated with clusters of purple flowers and a stenciled gold geometric inner border; the base is marked with the green clover C.S. Prussia stamp. A lobed plate features high-relief molded floral details and an iridescent glaze with central floral sprays. An oval double-handled dish displays a scalloped gilded rim and sprays of pink roses against a shaded ivory ground. Two plates feature wide maroon luster borders with gilded filigree, depicting pastoral harvest and leisure scenes with women and children. The bases of these plates bear green maker marks consistent with Fraureuth. Largest plate 10″ diameter. Location: 18C

Condition report:

The items are in good antique condition. There is minor rubbing and surface wear to the gold gilding, particularly on the raised rims and handles. Two plates are currently fitted with wire hanging hardware. No chips, cracks, or professional repairs are evident. A minor manufacturing anomaly is present on the foot rim of the R.S. Prussia plate.
