Description
Richard Segalman (American, 1934-2021). This impressionistic watercolor on deckle-edged paper depicts a multi-arched bridge crossing a river, set against a background of urban buildings with spire-topped towers. The composition utilizes a muted palette of ocher, gray-blue, and dark charcoal tones to render the architecture and its reflections in the water. The artwork is float-mounted on a dark brown mat within a simple, modern black plastic frame. The verso of the frame is a molded black plastic backing with hanging hardware, bearing the manufacturer mark The Original Format Frame By MCS Industries.
